A Calm room.

With the appropriate sensory environment, we are able to create a secure and safe setting to then guide users towards a calm state. We are more likely to obtain better therapeutic results in a serene room than in an environment where the user does not experience the same level of well-being and security.

If your therapeutic goal is to reduce disruptive behavior, anxiety or appease different cognitive challenges, this is the perfect room. Here, the user feels safe, is able to offset feelings of self-harm, experiences less agitation towards others and external situations, while also being able to reconnect with the calm within. With the support of lights, sounds, carefully selected images and videos, including projections on the wall, the SHX system enables the user to screen pleasant and familiar content and regulate the sensory input as per their needs.

Therapeutic opportunities

This space is conducive to de-escalating individuals when in a crisis mode and serves as a positive alternative to seclusion and physical restraint. Our goal is to protect the user and his or her surroundings and provide them a pleasant space to decompress. Thanks to its characteristics, this room is useful for managing agitation and aggression, without being a 'punishment' room. It is also useful for anticipating aggressive episodes, conducting psychotherapy sessions, music therapy, chromotherapy, hypnosis work, etc.
